Warriors Postcard

Melisa Trombley drew inspiration from the iconic photograph, "The Eagle" by Roland Reed for her painting, Warriors. The original photo was taken in 1913 and depicts members of the Blackfeet tribe standing on rocks near the Sun Point area on the shore of St Mary Lake. Melisa's use of color brings the historic image to life in a way that pays homage to her Blackfeet heritage while connecting the viewer to the early days of Glacier National Park.
