Fans of Glacier's historic Red Buses can take their own mini model home with this 1936 White Model 706 Tour Bus. These vehicles are a common sight on Going-to-the-Sun road and give tours to more than 60,000 visitors annually. Between 1936 and 1940, the National Park purchased 35 of the Model 706's and they were a feat of engineering at the time with the ability to accelerate uphill with 17 passengers. Red bus drivers developed the nickname "Jammers" for grinding the gears when shifting. The buses also have nicknames such as "The Rubies of the Rockies" or simply, "The Reds." Glacier boasts the largest fleet of "Reds" still in operation.
