The small but mighty pika might be a rare sighting in Glacier but their importance is immeasurable. Pikas are highly sensitive to temperatures above 78 degrees Fahrenheit and are one of the few animals that can survive winters in the alpine. Due to their sensitivity to heat, pikas are studied closely for the effects of climate change.
