Designed by Deshawna Anderson (White Mountain Apache/Crow), this blanket's design honors the loss of missing and murdered indigenous Native people. The arrow shapes are symbolic of finding a good path in life at the same time acknowledging that life has pitfalls and danger as well as opportunity. The hourglass in the center represents life's spiritual journey through the most difficult circumstances. A portion of the proceeds from the "Courage to Bloom" Blanket sales will go to the American Indian College Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps fund scholarships for Native American students and tribal colleges.
