Hidden Lake lies in a half-moon shaped basin below Bearhat Mountain, where its waters reflect the glacier-carved landscape left by massive Ice Age glaciers thousands of years ago. Mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and bears can sometimes be seen in this area along with smaller animals such as hoary marmots, Columbian ground squirrels, and pika. Wildflowers are also abundant in the summer in the alpine meadows of Logan Pass, where even Artic floral species are found.
